Become a Volunteer

If caring is your passion, welcome home.

At Harbor Day School, we are committed to helping children with special needs live life to the fullest. The truth is, we cannot do it alone.

Your time can make a difference in the lives of our children. Our volunteers are a committed group of people who want to help kids succeed.

Ready to Serve?

Volunteers are trained and placed in the areas where they can serve best. Whether in the classroom, helping at an event, or using a particular skill or talent, there is something for everyone.

No previous experience is required. All volunteers receive free training and work with children under the supervision of qualified staff members.

Our hours are 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Please check the calendar for open and closed dates.

Ways to Volunteer

Classroom Volunteers

Harbor Day School is blessed to have volunteers who are willing to give one day a week or more to work with our children. Classroom volunteers help students develop motor skills, reading, writing, self help skills, and work toward individualized goals.

Special Events Volunteers

We host several major fundraising events throughout the year, along with community luncheons, holiday parties, and other gatherings. Volunteers play a vital role by assisting staff with planning and executing these events.

College Internships and Observations

If you are a professor seeking opportunities for your students, or a student looking for internship or observation hours, we have a place for you.
